This adapter is designed exclusively for MacBook Pro 4th generation models (2016 and later) with two or four Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. Technically it will also work with an MacBook Air (2018 and later) with two or four Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, but physically it will not align with the MacBook Air housing as it does with the MacBook Pro housing. Usage on other notebooks with two USB-C ports, like the Dell XPS, is not supported.
